July 20th 2008 Vålerenga share the points

Incredibly it rained yet again today and the cricket field was a total washout (which saved us white washing the crease instead). The league points were shared with Vålerenga CK staying 2nd in Norwegian Cricket Division C. report here

July 13th 2008 Vålerenga Win Again

Vålerenga CK recover their form in the 2008 league with a comfortable win over Grorud after rain had stopped play yet again. The match was then reduced to 20 overs with Grorud setting a batting target of 64 runs. Read the VCK report here

July 6th 2008 - Rain Stops Play

Vålerenga CK have drawn their match in round Eight of the 2008 NCF league. Rain stopped play against Sinsen (B) CC after 50 minutes of cricket. VCK had made a solid start with their openers scoring 42 for 1 wicket off 8.2 overs. The teams were then forced to draw the contest and each take 2 consolatory league points. VCK do however stay in 2nd place. report here

June 15th 2008 Six straight wins!

VCK - Tasfeer Ali maintained his match winning record as first XI Captain by steering a wet Vålerenga CK to their sixth straight win in the league against Strømsø CC. The match was played in very difficult overcast weather conditions in Drammen earlier today. Arshik Nizar won the man of the match award for a splendid half century innings and some great fielding at mid-wicket. 6 wins in 6 rounds, Well done VCK! A full match report click here

June 12th 2008 Great News for VCK

A new Norwegian Cricket Forbund ruling states that the first Two teams to finish the current league season in Divisjon C are to be automatically promoted to play in Divisjon B for the 2009 Norwegian Cricket season. Vålerenga CK are currently looking very comfortable approaching the half way stage in the current league season. Keep up the fine work on the field and let 's keep winning! We thank all our supporters, both at the games and here online for all the invaluable team support.

June 10th 2008 Training as usual

Training in the nets and on the field will commence throughout the summer as usual every FRIDAY at 5.30pm at the home ground at EKEBERG I Cricket fields. Everyone welcome to join in! Basic fitness training is also provided. Changing room/WC available.

June 8th 2008 Five straight wins!

Vålerenga CK continue their winning streak in the 2008 league season with another 5 wicket victory in Division C over a strong Fjord C.C First XI. On a beautifully sunny day the team displayed calm during a close encounter. Fjord came into the match on the back of their first win of the season and tried hard to earn another 4 points. Training, Nets & Fielding Practice
Outdoor practice sessions are held weekly at the Ekeberg I cricket ground in Oslo on Friday evenings from 5.30pm. New members are always welcome to join in with us
